About Our Church

New Psalmist Baptist Church is a Christ-centered, Bible-believing Baptist congregation serving the Baltimore community with faith, compassion, and unwavering hope in Jesus Christ. Our mission is to lift up the name of Jesus, disciple believers, strengthen families, comfort the grieving, and share the Gospel with love and truth.

Our Baptist Beliefs

As a Baptist church, we believe that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. We affirm the authority of Scripture, the power of prayer, believer’s baptism, and the calling of every Christian to live a holy and surrendered life in obedience to the Lord.

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.”
– Ephesians 2:8

We Believe in the Trinity

We believe in one God revealed in three Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—working in unity to redeem, restore, and sustain the world.

“Go therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.”
– Matthew 28:19

We Believe Jesus Christ Is Lord

Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully God and fully Man, the Savior of the world. He lived a sinless life, died for our sins, rose again with all power, and offers eternal life to all who believe in Him.

“I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
– John 14:6

Baptism by Immersion

We practice baptism by immersion as a symbol of the believer’s faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

“Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead... even so we also should walk in newness of life.”
– Romans 6:4

Walking in Love, Service, and Compassion

Our church has a long history of serving families during the most difficult seasons of life. Whether through prayer, bereavement support, community outreach, or worship gatherings, our desire is to reflect the love of Christ in all we do.

We invite you to worship with us, grow with us, and discover the hope that is found in Jesus Christ.
